This wheel thrown ceramic planter is made by Jennifer Spring Ceramics, a Seattle based modern ceramics artist. 
 
The modern carved planter measures approximately 7" tall and 8" wide. The artistic process is called sgrafitto, which is a painted surface that is carved to reveal the design. 
 
The interior white clay is glazed in clear and the outside pattern is left unglazed to reveal a matte finish. The result is modern and dramatic. 
 
This planter has a drain hole with matching saucer.

  • Jennifer hand makes each piece in her Seattle area studio.  She fires all work in an electric kiln at midrange firing of approx. 2200 degrees (cone 4-6 depending on the clay body). Her ceramics are food, microwave and dishwasher safe.
